Candice & Jamey I Wedding

Candice and Jamey met two and a half years ago at the famous Carousel Bar in the Hotel Monteleone. They instantly gravitated towards each other but Candice lived in California. She said "We talked pretty often after I left and I decided to come back for a visit later that summer. We've been together ever since :)"

Candice was flying in from LA to visit Jamey and after a bite, they drove over to the Magnolia Bridge over Bayou St. John. He was shaking as he handed her a card. Like a true romantic, he had written a poem. As she read it, Jamey got down on one knee and proposed. She described it in three words: it was perfect.

Their happiness is so genuine and apparent from the magnetic smiles on their faces throughout their wedding day. I was in awe watching them celebrate.

The couple wed on October 17th at Latrobe's on Royal Street. Here are some of my favorite moments that day!

Candice had noticed Latrobe's on her very first visit to New Orleans. Once the two were engaged, they looked into it and knew instantly that it was the right venue. She said she couldn't have imaged a more perfect place. "The location, building, the amazing staff, the food. It was the best choice for us!"

When I asked Candice to describe her big day, she said "I think Jamey and I both finally relaxed the day of. I was so lucky to spend the day with my best girlfriends getting ready. It was so exciting to finally put my dress on. The first look was so special. It was wonderful to be with everyone for photos. When it was our time to head to Latrobe's, we walked out of the hotel. My best friend Georgia had been jokingly playing "going to the Chapel" the whole trip. We were singing it out of the hotel and she asked the awesome musicians on the corner, Tanya and Dorise (who I've loved since I first stayed in NOLA), to play it and we sang as we walked down Royal Street. It was magic! The ceremony was perfect. It was so exciting to see the packed room, but my focus became Jamey and everything else was a blur. We danced the night away to the amazing Michael Foster Project and went out with the best second line ever (in my humble opinion). Kinfolk Brass Band was spectacular. We capped the night off at the Carousel Bar, where our journey started, with friends and family. It was the best night of our lives."
